Decorey Lacarl Thomason: 1 dead in double shooting at Greenville Co. apartment complex

A man was killed and another injured in a shooting early Friday morning at Boulder Creek Apartments on Furman Hall Road, Greenville County authorities confirmed.

Deputies arrived at the scene around 3 a.m. and found two men who had been shot. One of the victims, 31-year-old Decorey Lacarl Thomason from Mauldin, was taken to the hospital where he later died.

A suspect, 27-year-old Jamante Quentez Edward Williams, was arrested before 9 a.m., according to Lt. Ryan Flood of the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators revealed that Williams was at a gathering at the apartments when a confrontation broke out, leading him to open fire, striking two people.

Williams faces multiple charges, including murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He is currently being held at the Greenville County Detention Center.
