Many Man Killed in Sabine Parish Crash

On December 15, 2024, at approximately 6:27 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a one-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 6 west of Many.

The crash claimed the life of 24-year-old Christopher Peveto of Many.

The initial investigation revealed that a 2011 Ford Escape, driven by Peveto, was traveling east on Louisiana Highway 6.

For reasons still under investigation, Peveto’s vehicle left the roadway, traveled down the ditch embankment and struck a tree.

Peveto, who was not restrained, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead. Routine toxicology samples were obtained and submitted for analysis.

Although not all crashes are survivable, proper use of seat belts can greatly decrease an occupant’s chance of death and may greatly reduce the extent of injury.

Always ensuring every occupant is properly restrained can often mean the difference between life and death.
