The Calverton School community is grieving the sudden and heartbreaking loss of 12th-grade student Jake Pedersen.
Jake, a 2021 graduate of The Summit School, passed away in his sleep over the weekend.

Jake was preparing for his graduation from Calverton, a milestone he eagerly anticipated.

Known for his warmth, intelligence, and creativity, Jake left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
In addition to excelling academically, Jake found joy on the Varsity Lacrosse Team. He discovered his passion for the sport last year, appreciating the camaraderie and teamwork. Outside of school, Jake enjoyed spending time with his twin brother Matthew, playing video games, working out, and bonding with his dogs.
This tragedy comes in a year when Jake was celebrating milestones and planning his future. His loss is felt deeply by his parents, Dana and Gregory, his brother Matthew, and his friends. The community has rallied around the Pedersen family, offering condolences and support.
