A motorcyclist was killed Sunday morning after crashing into a guardrail on Clearview Parkway in Metairie, authorities said.
Louisiana State Police said Cameron Blackwell, 27, of Belle Chasse, was driving a 2014 Yamaha FZO9 Motorcycle north on the elevated portion of Clearview Parkway just north of Earhart Boulevard when he crashed into a guardrail and fell to the ground below.
“For reasons still under investigation, the Yamaha failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the right side of the roadway, and impacted the guardrail,” State Police said.
State Police were notified of the crash shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday. Blackwell, who was wearing a DOT-approved helmet, was pronounced dead on the scene.
Standard toxicology samples were collected from Blackwell and submitted for analysis.
The crash remains under investigation.
