Franklinton police say they have arrested a mother accused of beating her 8-month-old child to death.
Autumn Harper, 24, was booked into the Washington Parish Jail in the early hours of Wednesday (March 19) morning for one count of first-degree murder.
The boy’s father identified the victim as Sterling Rogers.
Police say they were called into Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton a week ago regarding an 8-month-old child who had suffered severe injuries, including multiple healing bones and broken bones.
The boy was transferred to Children’s Hospital by air where he later died as the result of their injuries on Monday, March 17.
Detectives say that after interviewing witnesses during an extensive investigation they identified the mother as the suspect.
Harper is currently being held without bond.
