A native of Albany, Georgia, and a former University of Georgia (UGA) football player, Gleaton Jones was critically injured in a car accident on December 10, 2024.
The injuries were severe, including a brain injury that required partial skull removal to alleviate swelling.
He is currently in the ICU, and his condition has deeply impacted his family and community.
The accident has united the Albany community in prayer and hope for his recovery. On Facebook, Porterfield Methodist Church posted.
Good afternoon, If you haven’t heard, our dear friends Kirk & Marlin Jones’ son Gleaton has been in an accident. They need as much prayers that they can get. With that being said, I would like to invite you to the gym tonight before the 5:15pm class to pray with us, lifting them up in our prayers. If you can’t attend we understand—but we ask you to please take a moment to stop wherever and say a prayer for the Jones family and the doctors involved. Pray hard for our guy, Gleaton. Thank you all so much.Via Facebook

If you are a God-fearing individual, I ask that you please say a prayer and lift Gleaton Jones up before our Heavenly Father. I don’t have any details, but I know that a young man, who is loved by many is fighting desperately for his time here. I know that there is a family that is hurting at the moment and hoping for a miracle. I also know from the short 46 years I’ve had on this planet that our God is bigger than any problem that we have, any illness and any pain. Our God is bigger than what this young man is going through. Lastly, I know that if it be His will, He will make this young man whole again! I try not to ask for much, but I am asking of you this favor.Via Facebook
