Five dead after Fannin County crash, residents calling for change

The Texas Department of Public Safety has released a report containing the names of the people who were killed in Fannin County on Wednesday.

The report states a car driven by Ernestina Castillo-Alfaro, 30, was traveling eastbound on SH-56 at an unsafe speed, lost control and drove into oncoming traffic, hitting another vehicle.

The four passengers in the vehicle were Rosa Trochez-Montenegro, 26, Oneyda Zamora, 28, Jose Urbina, 23, and Nestor Gonzalez-Valerio, 57.

All occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two people in the other vehicle, identified as David Strong, 48, and Craig Moody, 62, were taken to TMC with critical injuries.
