Passenger killed in Kane County truck rollover identified

An Ogden man has been identified as the victim of a tragic semi-truck rollover in Kane County earlier this week.

Sammy White, 39, was the passenger of a white box truck that was traveling east on SR-14 near milepost 37 just before 3 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30.

The driver of the truck, who has not been identified, stated he had swerved to miss a deer standing in the roadway.

The truck left the roadway to the right and overturned, coming to a rest upside down. The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital via ambulance. White unfortunately suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sammy Paul White, affectionately known as “Sosa Baby,” was born on April 9, 1985, in Ogden, UT.

Sammy was employed as a commercial truck driver at J and R Express.
