Uninvolved man dies in shooting, another hurt in Binghamton

One person is dead after a shooting that took place on Monday evening, the Binghamton Police Department said.

The Police Department said officers responded to 100 Roberts St-which is the Town & Country Housing Complex-around 10:18 p.m. for a report of a man with a gunshot wound.

Upon arrival, police located an injured 41-year-old male.

On-scene officers transported the victim after attempting life-saving measures on him. He was pronounced dead at a later time.

Police identified the victim as Tyrell Norris, 41, of Binghamton. Police said Norris was an uninvolved party in the shooting but was struck in his home by gunfire. While officers were present at 100 Roberts St., they were notified of another gunshot victim at 104 Liberty St.

There they located a 21-year-old man who had sustained a gunshot wound to his foot.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

After an investigation, detectives were able to determine that a shooting occurred in the parking lot at 100 Roberts St. Building 2-8.
